Section 15 and the Port Conway Road
Hopyard is one of King George County's settlement areas, the places set aside for public utilities and growth. Fairview Beach is another.
It's still growing. In February 2019 the county Planning Commission approved the Section 15 plat: 44 single-family lots and 2 common parcels on almost 32 acres, northeast of Port Conway Road (State Road 607). More than 20 of those acres are planned as open space.
Hopyard Farm has its own public water system, drawing from wells A, D and F, and its own wastewater plant, both run by the King George County Service Authority. In April 2025 that plant averaged 0.097 MGD.
Old Wharf Road, Caledon and Dahlgren Wayside Park
Hopyard Boat Landing, 12266 Old Wharf Road, puts a public ramp and a fishing pier on the Rappahannock. It's open dawn to dusk.
Caledon State Park, at 11617 Caledon Road, has 10 hiking trails, four multi-use trails and bald eagles to watch in summer.
And for a beach day without a long drive, Dahlgren Wayside Park sits at 3435 Roseland Road beside the U.S. 301 bridge, with beach access, fishing, picnic areas and kayak rentals.
